Our Story
We’d love to share our journey with you, it’s really a story of faith, grace, and trying our best to follow where God leads.
It started in Malaysia. At age 31, Dr. Boaz Kok felt a clear nudge from God. In 2007, moved by the Great Commission, he took a step of faith (honestly, it wasn’t always easy!) and left for Thailand. As we like to say, “We walk by faith, not by sight.”
In Thailand, Boaz began sharing the gospel with the Jewish community and anyone open to listening. Before heading to India, God arranged something special: Boaz met Ruth, a Thai believer, in Bangkok. Her story is truly inspiring, she had been a Buddhist, then a Mormon, before encountering Jesus through Boaz. After much prayer, she welcomed Christ as her Lord.
Boaz then went to India, sharing his faith in cafés, train stations, and churches. Local pastors started inviting him to encourage their congregations. By the end of the year, he returned to Bangkok, where his friendship with Ruth grew deeper. Together, they served local churches and cared for the homeless in Lumpini Park, remembering Jesus’ words: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.”
In April 2008, they married in a simple ceremony that cost less than $35, a small but meaningful testament to their faith and humility. Instead of a honeymoon, they headed straight into mission work, serving three months in India. From there, their ministry spread across Asia and beyond: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Macau, Hong Kong, and Turkey. Wherever God opened a door, they tried to walk through it.
In 2012, they planted Spring Valley Community Church in Bangkok, a refuge for refugees, a place of second chances, offering food, education, and hope. After much prayer, they closed the physical church in 2019. Then, when the pandemic hit in 2020, they continued online, reaching people around the world with God’s Word. As it’s written, “The Word of God is not bound.”
Today, their journey continues, fueled by faith, humility, and a deep desire to share the gospel to the ends of the earth. We truly believe that when we surrender to God’s plan, He writes the most beautiful stories. Thank you for letting us share a small part of ours with you.
